Poliglota iPhone · iPad

Privacy Policy

Updated 8 September 2026

Poliglota does not collect, store or transmit any personal data.

No accounts to create, no servers of ours, no analytics, no ads. The app works offline. There is one optional purchase, handled by Apple, and your progress can be stored in your own iCloud if you have it switched on.

What the app stores, and where

Poliglota stores your progress — learned words, streak, settings and any profiles you create — on your device. Deleting the app deletes the data with it.

If you have iCloud switched on, that same progress is also stored in your own iCloud account, so you can start on the iPhone and carry on on the iPad. It goes to your iCloud, under your Apple ID: it never passes through any server of ours and we cannot see it. Turning iCloud off for Poliglota in your system settings stops it leaving the device.

The microphone

The app asks for microphone access for one purpose: checking your pronunciation in the speaking exercises. It is active only when you tap the microphone button.

When iOS cannot recognise on-device, Apple's operating system may process the audio on Apple servers under Apple's own privacy policy. That happens at the system level, not within this app.

Children

Poliglota is meant for young children too. That is precisely why it collects no data, shows no advertising, includes no purchases and links nowhere outside the app.

The purchase

The app has one optional purchase that unlocks the rest of the course. Apple handles all of it: the payment, the receipt and restoring it on other devices. We never see or receive any payment data, and we do not store who bought it: the app asks Apple whether this account owns the purchase, and Apple answers yes or no.

That is why you do not need to register to get it back on a new phone, and why there is no user database of any kind.

Third parties

The app bundles no third-party libraries, analytics kits or ad networks. It shares nothing with anyone because it collects nothing.

Changes

Should this policy change, the date above will be updated and the new version will appear at this same address.
